Picture Flood: Artist shows one Day with Flickr

On-line FotoFlickrFotoplattform Flickr? „” It would not really describe A great many; up-to-date there is daily over one Million Pictures! In Order to get a Conception of it, how many Photos are that, the Artist Erik Boiler printed all Pictures, those on one Day with Flickr uploaded and thus an Art Installation in the photography museum Foam in Amsterdam was created.

The Flood at Expressions fills directly several Areas of the Gallery and the Photos is in such a way stacked up that it looks like a Landscape with Snow Banks. In an Interview Boiler explains the Sense of this chaotic Confusion.

„We are nowadays exposed to a Flooding at Pictures”, say Boilers. „This Abundance comes off by Sides such as Flickr or also network sides such as Facebook and picture search engines, on which one can divide Contents with others. Public and Private are mixed and are openly displayed very Personal. By printing all Pictures, which were uploaded in 24 Hours, I want to obtain the Feeling, to be drowned as one in graphic Experiences of other Humans can.”

By The Way: Well that Boiler was limited to 24 Hours and not all on on-line platform uploaded Pictures printed. Because the entire Photo Existence on Flickr amounts at present to far over six Billion Pictures.
