Mobile Free: the ARCEP will check on the ground its cover of the population
Is the network of Free Mobile perfectly functional? The ARCEP, the regulatory authority of the télécoms, thus have just published an official statement in order to bring “several precise details”. “the ARCEP noted that we cover more than 27% of the population, and we continue to install antennas. One thinks on the long run that the only possibility of existing is to have our own network. Beside that, we signed a trade agreement of type Full MVNO with France Telecom: it is fantastic, but it is not viable. ” It is what precisely Xavier Niel answered, the founder of Iliad (Free) two days ago.

The ARCEP, to some extent criticized indirectly by the various attacks aiming Mobile Free, all the same made a point of putting the points on “I” in order to make conceal the last polemics. A clarification due partly to Eric Besson. Indeed, according to Le Figaro, the digital Minister of Economy sent a letter Wednesday to the authority so that the latter checks the respect of the promises of Free Mobile, namely to cover 27% of the population at least. A checking already operated by the ARCEP between November and December 2011.
“Following the launching of the offers of Mobile Free, and with the subscription of first subscriptions, many interrogations appeared as for the reality of the respect by the operator of his obligations of cover and of the availability of his services” in particular the minister wrote.
