Colorado State University is a public institution of higher learning and its current approximent enrollment is 25,000 students. The university has eight colleges fifty five academic departments.
It offers 150 programs of study, In addition to its programs in biomedical sciences, engineering, environmental science, agriculture, and human health and nutrition, CSU offers professional programs in professional disciplines including business, journalism, construction management as well as in the liberal and performing arts, humanities, and social sciences.
Colorado State University is a leading research university and does research worldwide in infectious diseases, atmospheric science, clean energy technologies, and environmental science.
It began its life in 1870 as the Colorado Agricultural College, this was six years before Colorado became a state.
Colorado State University offers degrees in maths, engineering and technology it also offers the best professional programs in the United States in veterinary medicine, occupational therapy, journalism, agriculture and construction management.
In the last year it has awarded degrees to over five thousand graduates and it has also attracted almost three hundred million in in research funding. Colorado State faculty is at present researching and tackling critical global issues such as re-emergence of tuberculosis, air pollution in Asian cities, severe weather forecasting, nutrition and wellness, and bio terrorism. CSU’s faculty provides an excellent student learning experience by offering laboratory and field experiences from a major research university.
Their Volunteer Programs hosts some of the strongest community-service programs in the country with more than 6,000 students participating in the university’s proud tradition of public outreach and CSU faculty played a significant role in the founding of the Peace Corps.
The University is situated in Fort Collins; It is an award winning city that is located on the front range of the rocky mountains with the foot hills and 14,000 foot peaks which are visible to the residents. This means that out door sports can play a big part of your life.
