About Penn Foster Career School: Was founded in 1890 by Thomas J Foster who was basically a newspaper person. He was the first person to recognize the need of education for people who were working but wanted to pursue education. And this made him work on and develop the distance-learning method as a way of helping such working adults. The initiative brought him instant success and people showed up and started joining home education/distance learning programs his institute was offering in big numbers. By the end of 1945, 5,000,000 students had enrolled in Penn Foster training programs, and to date that number has shot to 13,000,000.
