Unless you have some sort of qualifications the job market is very thin with minimum wages being offered. This might suit some school leavers who are only interested in nights out with their friends and with no thoughts to the future.
Living at home with an indulgent mom who takes just a small amount for living expenses means the minimum wage is quite adequate for his needs so more education is the furthest thing from his mind.
The day of reckoning arrives when relationships are formed or the need to set up their own living accommodation, realisation that a minimum wage is simply not enough for their every day needs starts them wondering what to do to improve their chances of a better lifestyle.
