BCOM British College of Osteopathic Medicine is one of the first educational establishments to be accredited and meet the quality standards set by the profession”s governing body, the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC).
BCOM British College of Osteopathic Medicine is unique in offering two full time degrees which lead to registration with the General Osteopathic Council. The BSc/Masters in Osteopathic Medicine is a five year double award programme while those wishing to undertake the single award pathway can enrol on the four year Bachelor of Osteopathic Medicine. Both these degrees allow the successful student to practice as a qualified Osteopath at the end of year four.
As part of the education at BCOM you will be working at one of their outpatients clinics. They provide all their students with a diverse range of patients so they can develop the competence and safety in osteopathic technique needed to qualify as a practitioner and the student will usually see patients from the start to the end of the treatment.
The British College of Osteopathic Medicine is situated close to Hampstead Heath in a green area of North London. It is set in Hampstead, a beautiful area with the best of both worlds: the scenic tranquillity of Hampstead Heath is a twenty minute walk away, and the shopper”s paradise, Oxford Street, is within fifteen minutes reach via the Underground. Within the locality of the College you can experience cafe culture, high street shopping, a huge variety of restaurants, nightlife and sports facilities, making this an ideal area to be a student.

Naturopathic, or holistic osteopathy is more than diagnosing and treating the structural and mechanical problems of the body. It looks at diet, lifestyle and mental well-being to restore the state of balance within the total bodily function.

Since the passing of the Osteopathy Act in 1993, the status of the profession has risen accordingly. Osteopathy is now recognized as part of primary health care, and having a close working relationship with the medical profession.
